There is no research to indicate that patients lose fat around the eyes after using Latisse. Side effects (including eye lid irritation and skin discoloration) resolve after discontinuing Latisse.
You've hit on an important question with Latisse. Many people have some degree of fat loss or lid skin tightening around their eyes after using Latisse for eyelash growth. Most find it unnoticeable or like the appearance, some decide to stop the medication, others keep going and have a little filler injected to get the look they want. The fat loss is more noticeable in older patients as they have already begun to naturally lose volume and like Cinderella, the eye changes will largely return to normal over time if Latisse is discontinued.
Latisse takes 12-16 weeks to start to take effect, i often combine this with PRP topically or injected and get better results. Take viviscal as well. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your question in regards to Latisse.Yes, you have to continue using Latisse for lash growth. It is a maintenance application. When you stop using it, your lashes will go back to original length prior to Latisse. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified...
You want to make sure that you've removed all of your eye makeup before latisse to your dry/damp lashes. Obviously, the latisse will make them wet. Make sure to clean up any excess product with a q-tip. Best, Dr. Nazarian
It is never a good idea to use an expired product. Especially around the eyes which are particularly sensitive to irritation. If you haven't had a reaction, great. But I would certainly recommend that you buy a new jar pronto. Best, Dr. Nazarian
Assuming that you follow the instructions and apply latisse correctly, you shouldn't have a problem. The condition you are referring to is related to patients who are using drops for glaucoma. Which go in the actual eye. Not along the lash line. Best, Dr. Nazarian
