Thank you for your question. Swelling after any injection could be inflammation or bruising and can cause soreness and should resolve within 1 to 2 weeks. If this worsens or you experience a fever and redness please follow up with your treating physician. Best of Luck!
While some bruising and swelling should be expected with any injection, I find this to be rare with masseter Botox injections. I would followup with your injector with any concerns.
I am not sure what is going on but don't know why you should have pain and swelling at his point. I would go see your doctor and have this checked.

I usuallt do advice my patients that the muscle feels sore after botox injections for a few days after. 10cc seems like quite a large amount of volume for a botox injection...I think you mean 10 units? I do not usually encounter swelling, but if large amounts of volume were injected, the swelling may be from that. Good thing is, all of your symptoms should go away pretty rapidly.Best of luck!
As with all botox injections - the results last 3-4 months and are temporary. If you are using it for TMJ pain or headaches - then the discomfort will eventually return after the botox wears off. If you are using if for jaw slimming - then eventually the masseters will increase...
5 days is too early to determine if 15 units per side is sufficient. In some cases, 30 units per side is necessary. The masseter is a strong muscle!
