I lost a part of gums after from Zoom Whitening? (photo)

Zoom bleach is very strong and can burn away gum tissue.  Technicians must be properly trained to communicate with patients about signs of burning during the procedure. Normally barriers are applied to protect the gums, but evdn a small amount of moisture can break the seal and allow bleach to seep in.  When a patient noticed any burning sensation in the gums during Zoom, the patient should notify the Zoom tech right away, so bleach can be removed. Since your burn already happened, now it is the focus to help you heal.  You will need to clean the area with warm salt water only.  Do not brush in this area.  Apply sensodyne to sensitive areas of your teeth.  Apply vitamin E to the burned area. See your dentist for a follow up, to check for signs of infection. It should be fine in sbout 8 weeks.  

Hi:Usually the gum will grow back within 6-8 weeks.  Keep the area clean but do not over brush or irritate.  If the gum does not recover go to a Periodontist (gum specialist) for further evaluation.  Best of luck!

Usually the gums recover after that burn and will grow back.  It may take some time though.  You can buy OTC vitamin E capsules, break them open and use solution over burnt area - helps the healing.  Use  warm water and some salt rinses.  As for the sensitive tooth - use sensodyne whitening paste and leave on tooth, expectorate and don't  rinse or ask your dentist if he/she has some stronger desensitisers - different doctors carry different supplies.
