Low level laser therapy for hair does not work. I’ve offered it at my practice for FREE. I even gave it away as a study. I have not seen results. Maybe you can claim the patients didn’t use it right or it was not the "right" laser. All of these lasers are in the range of 650 to 670nm wavelength This is not a magic number wavelength for hair growth.650-670nm is the RED wavelength in almost ALL lasers. (red laser)The $1 WallMart laser pointer is ALSO a low power (low level) laser that emits at 650-670nmThese hair lasers are just a dome or a hat that incorporates 20 to 30 of these $1 lasers. You can make one for yourself for probably under $50.This is a GREAT marketing and business plan. (note:sarcasm)The studies or papers that are out there do not show clear results. If they work, it is so minimal it’s not worth the effort or cost to justify a result that can not be seen with a naked eye for someone to say “that was worth it”.
You should always ask the advice of the doctor who did your hair transplant when using products or devices in the area of the transplanted hairs with regards to when they are happy for you to start. Otherwise, if you have a disappointing result, the doctor may blame you for using something without their agreement. Low Level Light Therapy may have a benefit in strengthening existing hair but there is limited evidence to suggest it can have an effect on growing new hair.
The Theradome Laser uses low level laser light to help stimulate hair growth. Better scientific studies need to be done to confirm its effectiveness in treating hair loss, but I think there is some evidence of its benefit and I have had many patients do well by it. It is safe to use after about one week out from transplant.
Please consult your surgeon for specific advice. In our office we advise patients they may use laser therapy starting early in the post op period, as long as the device is not resting on any grafted area.
Low Level Laser Light Therapy is safe and can be used within a week after a hair transplant. I don't believe that the laser will help the hair grow much.
The use of finesteride is important for preventing further hair loss, not necessarily preventing shock loss. You don't HAVE to take it, but it would be highly recommended to try and keep what you have! If you're fortunate to have a very dense "donor" area on the back of your head and...
Greetings, Washing your hair after a hair transplantation is an important step for restoration. We usually have our patients start spraying hair with lactated ringers with liposomal ATP as well as other growth factors twice a day to help your hair process start ASAP. Actual hair washing us...
Hair transplant from one person to another person is not done, because the hair is an organ and when transplanted can be rejected. It is not worth the risks that are involved.
