Anyone performed pelvic-plasty or hip implants?

It is important to realize that there are no true standard hip implants. Either surgeons borrow implants made of for other parts of the body (usually not a good idea) or implants are made custom for each patient's hip augmentation aesthetic needs. iliac crest implants are one type of hip implant that merely augments the high hip area along the top of the hip bone. Rather than titanium I prefer to use solid silicone crest implants even though that is a bone augmentation area. Other types of hip implants may cover the trochanteric depression or extend much further down into the thigh. These varying hip needs is why a custom implant approach is best so they are individualized for each patient.
