I had submental liposuction performed in March of 2022, at 3 months my results were great. Now that I'm 10 months out I can see that the fat pad under my chin is getting big again. I have gained no weight, in fact I'm exercising more and counting my calories, even my tightest jeans feel less snug. So what gives? Should I try to pursue a non surgical option or go back to the original MD for a revision?

Answer: Understanding chin and neck profile Most people who seek liposuction of the chin and neck don’t have an abnormal fat distribution. The great majority of individuals who have this procedure tend to have skeletal balance issues that caused the underlying platysma muscle to drape the neck in the more oblique fashion. The contour in this part of the face is affected by skin, subcutaneous fat, platysma muscle, so I’m platysmal fat, submandibular salivary glands and primary bone structure. The people who get the best results tend to be young people with tight skin who are overweight and have excellent bone structure. To get an assessment regarding bone structure I suggest consulting with oral surgeons. For more definitive operation consider consulting plastic surgeons about a formal neck lift. If you’re moving fat the first time did not give you a good result been taking more fat is unlikely to give an impressive result. There are no good nonsurgical options for this.
