Best Treatment for Red Capillaries on Face?

There are many different ways of treating broken capillaries on the face:
Nd:YAG- remains a gold standard for treating abnormal blood vessels
IPL- The better newer IPL machines are quite effective in treating blood vessels
KTP-can be used to treat blood vessels as well
Pulsed-Dye lasers- can create bruising afterwards and has fallen out of favor
With these treatments, patients can respond in 1 to several treatments depending on the type of blood vessel.

There are a few options for treating small facial capillaries or telangiectasias. 

A Pulsed Dye laser, also called a V beam or V star, works great for capillaries and facial redness.  Another great option is any KTP, such as the Excel V, which is a Nd:YAG from Cutera.

Lastly if isolated or small, electrodessication or radio frequency can work well also.

Hi MJG.  There are two options we use when treating facial veins.  The first is a long pulsed yag laser.  We use the Sciton Profile, but there are other 1064 lasers that can help.  KTP lasers can also do the job well.  We would not recommend Pulsed dye lasers or IPL  Pulsed dye lasers are best for general redness, but not traceable veins and IPL is generally underpowered for this application.

Facial telangiectasias can be treated using many different techniques and all should be in the armamentarium of a specialist who deals extensively with patients who have this condition. IPL is used and requires more than 1 treatment. Long pPulse dye lasers (> 6-10 millisecond) and long pulsed Nd YAG 1064 nm laser. 

Lasers that target blood vessels such as a pulsed dye laser can be very useful in eradicating facial veins. If there is also underlying erythema, then intense pulsed light treatments can also be very helpful.

There is a new cream which is being released in the fall which is supposed to help redness. It is FDA- approved. The pulsed dye laser definitely improves the appearance of blood vessels as does an IPL which means intense pulsed light source. 

Pulsed dye laser works very well on broken facial capillaries. Depending on the size of the veins you could see improvement in a couple of sessions.

There are other options like diolite which can accomplish the same thing if the area to be treated is confined.

Basically any laser that targets hemoglobin (red) should clear up the redness.

Small capillaries on the face can best be treated with several different devices including topical lasers, Vein Wave, VeinGogh and Ellman microneedle radio frequency.  Each of these devices can work for the veins that you describe.  Usually more than one treatment is required and the treatment is done either with topical or no anesthesia involved.
