Most of my patients tolerate the procedure with just topical (high strength) numbing creams. If there is a desire for further comfort, the "superficial skin block" that I have popularized, seems to cut the discomfort down to a 2-3. This places a small amount of lidocaine throughout the face, just into the skin. It is a 3 minute procedure and is much better tolerated than nerve blocks.
I always supplement with nerve blocks, and in big cases will do this under partial sedation. INFINI is painful, the question is how to manage pain levels. Patient comfort is extremely important! Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
