Vaping nicotine 1 month after a hair transplant?

Aftercare of the transplanted hair is as important as the operation. 1 month post operation is a good period to go back to your daily routine. 

It is best to contact your surgeon for post surgery issues and care since all doctors have slightly different instructions.

Hi Thank you for your question.The greatest risk of nicotine with hair transplants is in the first couple of weeks. This is due to the nicotine causing the blood vessels to constrict and close up - not what you want to have for newly grafted follicles that need the blood supply. This effect tends to last upto 60 minutes after inhaling nicotine. If you vape now and then have another in 30 minutes, your total nicotine effect can last upto 2 hours. Now the problem with vaping is that you can not gauge how much you are having - with normal cigarettes it was easier to determine. By 4 weeks, the follicles have a blood supply established to them and are generally healthier but it is still very early in the wound healing cycle. The advice I give is that if you must have a cigarette or e-cig then it is advisable to wait atleast 4 hours inbetween to make sure you are giving enough time for the blood vessels to open up and provide oxygen and nutrients to the healing area. I hope this is helpful for you.Best wishesRohit SethPlastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hair transplant surgery

Nicotine 1 month post op should not have a major impact on hair transplant surgery results. Smoking in general is bad for your health and does impact your circulation.

Vaping with nixodine haas been reported to reduce the blood supply to the scalp but I have never seen a problem with it
