My skin texture is far worse after aggressive IPL sessions. What do I do? (photos)

I am 49 years old and have rosacea. I had a series of about 6 aggressive IPL sessions with a plastic surgeon who I trust(ed). Now, 4 months post IPL, and my skin texture and appearance has never looked worse. Pores are enlarged, pores have connected into lines, skin is puckered. Imperfections that existed before the IPLs have now been etched deeply into my epidermis. I am terrified/getting panic attacks. The doc tell me there is no way this could happen. Please tell me what will fix it.

Thanks for your question and the photos as well.  You have rosacea and my first question is what are you treating the rosacea with?  Are you on any of the oral and topical medications for rosacea that compliment the IPL treatments that you have had done – which is what you need to have when you have active rosacea and are receiving energy based treatments as the adjunct care for the skin disease.Consult with a board certified dermatologist who know what the best treatments are for rosacea from a medical side and use the IPL treatments, which can be great, as a way to treat the red blood vessels that accompany the condition.
