I have a test a day after my rhinoplasty. It's online but I'm scared I won't be able to do it because I don't know how I'll react to the surgery. Is it silly to ask my surgeon for a note so I can do a late write of the test? I feel silly because it's a cosmetic surgery and was my decision. But it was the only available day and I already paid last summer. Thanks in advance guys!

Answer: Rhinoplasty and a doctor's note Hi, no, it's not silly at all. In fact, I recommend you get a doctor's note to take the test at a later date. You definitely need to plan on taking it easy for a few days at least immediately following your surgery as your face may feel puffy and your nose will hurt and feel congested. You'll most likely have pain medication to help with this, but the meds could also have adverse side effects. Be sure to speak to your plastic surgeon about these or any other concerns you might have about your procedure. Don't hesitate to ask them about your recovery and any post-operative guidelines they may have as these will be important to follow.

Answer: Establishing a patient physician relationship with your plastic surgeon Successful surgical outcomes start with establishing a transparent patient physician relationship with your surgeon. Your surgeon wants what is best for you. I don't know of anyone who could sit for any examination the day after having a rhinoplasty. I would ask their patient coordinator for the note. An experienced surgeon has written thousands of these. Your school only needs to know that you had surgery. Not the nature of the procedure.

Answer: Note for school after rhinoplasty I think this is a reasonable request. I don't think it's silly at all. The letter doesn't have to say that you had a cosmetic rhinoplasty.
