5 weeks post op, I have pressure and hump on bridge of nose. Any suggestions?

Swelling after rhinoplasty is normal.  Give it some time.  Watch your diet, eat less salt and alcohol if needed.  

It is difficult to suggest what might be the issue without an exam in person. Patients can feel pressure on nose after rhinoplasty.

Dear pandabeat,

Reduction rhinoplasty with removal of a dorsal hump involves
fractures and osteotomies of the nasal bones with or without nasal tip
work. There is usually the tremendous
amount of swelling, with that swelling comes pressure. With large dorsal hump reductions there is
often, in the early phases, the perception of a residual bump that resolves
with time. During this period of time it
is important to be reassured that most of what you’re viewing is likely
swelling. It is important to check with
your operative rhinoplasty surgeon as all physicians have different post-op
instructions. But in my particular
practice I have patients massage the dorsal bridge in a specific fashion to
reduce swelling and to mold any small bony fragments following the osteotomies.

Usually over time the dorsal bridge bump swelling will
resolve and the true underlying bony anatomy will reveal itself.

I’m sure over time the kind of rhinoplasty results you are
hoping for will be achieved. Ensure to
follow-up with your operative rhinoplasty surgeon as they are in the best position
to reassure you around your post-operative progress.
