Can sucking in your belly after a Tummy tuck ruin or stretch the muscle repair?

I tend to hold in or suck in my stomach out of habit. Will this stretch or damage my muscle repair?

Thanks for your question.  I assume it has been a few weeks since your surgery, overeating will not cause your abdominoplasty to "fail..." be careful with your eating habits because weight gain after surgery can affect the results in an unfavorable way.  Hope this helps,Dr....

Was this a hematoma? Once the fluid has been drained, can it come back? How can I prevent this?

Thank you for your question. It sounds as if you may have had a hematoma.  Normally these develop in the first few days after surgery, and are problematic as they often require a return trip to the operating room to drain and remove.  There is a risk that fluid will reaccumulate, but...

Thanks for your question. Swelling will subside overtime. It can take several months before swelling subsides completely, so be patient and wait before judging the results of your surgery. The "flat look" you seek should be more and more evident as swelling goes down.All the best,Dr....
