Can Retin A, or any generic tretinoin cause hair loss?

If Accutane can cause hair loss, since both Retin a and Accutane are form of vitamin A, then is there a chance that Retin a can cause hair loss? I did not know it was possible until I read it somewhere online where couple of people discussed that it was causing them hair loss. Thank you for your answers.

Thank you for your question. Using retin-a, or other retinoic acids cannot cause conjuctivitis as this is caused by a bacteria. Derivatives of vitamin a (retin-a, etc), however, can cause irritation to the skin, especially the delicate eye area. My best advice would be to apply outside of the...

Retin A is a great topical for acne and can be used for fine lines and mild wrinkles, but there are other treatments that could be a lot more effective for scars- either laser, peel, microneedling or some other treatment would improve your fine scars.

The answer is yes, but combined with high SPF during the day because retinoid products promote skin cell turnover and the new skin is delicate and should not be exposed to the sun.BestDr. Karamanoukian

Retin a will increase collagen.    There is usually minimal changes to scars in general.   Pit scars are deep scars and you will not see any significant changes.
