How long should I wait between IPL photo facial treatments and Laser Hair Removal (upper lip) treatments?

Whether or not a Fotofacial and laser hair removal can be done on the same day really depends on the specific treatment protocols (i.e. what type of laser, and what wavelength). For example, in our office a Fotofacial uses 515, 560, and 640nm wavelengths on the IPL. For hair removal we may use the IPL, or we may use a YAG laser at a 1064 wavelength. I would feel comfortable using the YAG laser for hair removal and a doing a Fotofacial on the same day. But I would not recommend having a fotofacial and then getting a hair removal treatment with the IPL; depending on what wavelengths are used, it could increase the risk of a burn over the treatment area. Separating the two treatments by a few days to a week (and doing the laser hair removal first), would be the safest approach.As you can see from my complicated answer, it really depends on the specific treatment parameters. I would recommend asking the facility where you go for laser treatments- they can provide the best answer for you.

IPL treatments are usually done every 3-4 weeks for maximum effects. And laser hair removal to the lip is done with the same timing because that's the growth cycle for that area.
