If I have breast reduction surgery then have children later on in life will I be able to breast feed, will they get bigger during pregnancy/after and will I have sensation in my nipples?
Answer: I'm 31 years old, 38J breasts, no kids. Can I breast feed after Breast Reduction surgery? Breast reduction surgery tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations performed for appropriately selected patients. The majority of patients undergo this procedure are able to breast-feed successfully; it will be important for you to let your plastic surgeon know that you are planning to do so, so that the appropriate technique is utilized. Breasts do tend to get larger during pregnancy and then smaller and/or “droop” to some degree after pregnancy; of course, there is great variation from one woman to another. Loss or change of nipple/areola sensation is one of the known complications that may occur with breast reduction surgery. Ultimately, it will be important for you to select your plastic surgeon carefully and time the procedure carefully, in relation to life circumstances. I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast reduction surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes.

Answer: Ultimate Breast Reduction™ I recommend a new technique called The Ultimate Breast Reduction™.The breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. This technique avoids the ugly vertical scars of the traditional technique, maintains nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying muscle resulting in immediate pain relief without excessive reduction. At size 38 J each 200 grams removal corresponds to 1 cup size change. From this, you can compute the amount required to be removed to achieve your desired goal.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast reduction and breastfeeding If you have a breast reduction and become pregnant afterwards you may have milk production. And the production will not be enough to feed the baby solely with your breast milk. You will have changes in your breast after your pregnancies.

Answer: Breast feeding after reduction surgery is probably but will you be able to fully nourish your child that way? Probably not since a considerable amount of your ductal system is removed with the reduction. So you have to decide what is most important to you and your potential children and make the best decision for yourself.

Answer: Breast feeding and breast reduction It is very difficult to predict whether or not a patient can breast feed after a breast reduction. Most can breast feed but many women will probably have to supplement just like women who have not had reductions would.
