I’m planning to get filler but I want to make sure it can be dissolved even after 1 year in case it doesn’t turn out the way I want and it lasts longer than expected. I heard sometimes filler can last longer than 1 year for some people and that old filler cannot be dissolved.
Answer: Can old filler be dissolved, after 2 years for example You can be 100% sure your filler IF it is hyaluronic acid based like Juviderm, Restylane is gone by now. The caveat is if Bellafill was used it is absolutely NOT dissolved as it is considered a “permanent” filler. The hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved/reversed by injections of hylauronidase however as I said, you can be sure yours is gone by now.

Answer: Dissolving filler Hi, thanks for your question. It depends what kind of filler you are getting. Only hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers, which last approximately 6-12 months, can be dissolved. Longer lasting fillers like Radiesse cannot be dissolved, so make sure the filler you are having injected is HA based. Please don't hesitate to speak to your provider about your concerns.

Answer: It depends on the filler used. Hi there. Some fillers last 6 months, other 12 months or even 5 years (e.g. Bellafill). SO it will depend on the filler that will be used. Best is to express this concern with the provider you choose before you go in for the procedure.

Answer: Filler Can be Dissolved after 1 Year Yes, your filler can be dissolved if it lasts longer than 1 year, but it needs to be a hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic Acid based filler can be dissolved at anytime with Hyaluronidase.

Answer: Dissolving Filler Late No, a filler cannot be dissolved after two years. There are two reasons for this. First, after a short while the filler is essentially incorporated into the surrounding tissues and becomes like the tissue itself. Hyaluronidase does not dissolved tissue, it simply loosens the connection between the parts of the tissue, or in the case of a filler, loosens the part that binds the hyaluronic acid together. This makes it easier for the body to get to the hyaluronic acid and absorbed and use it. By two years, the filler is breaking down on its own and if there is any of it left, it is been incorporated in to the local tissues. Secondly, there are only a few fillers that last two years. One is not affected by hyaluronidase. As an aside, I would not worry about dissolving fillers, I would worry about picking the right person to inject the filler in the first place to make certain that you do like it.
