Double suture method for double eyelid: what happens to my natural crease when I do the DST?

Thank you for your question. DST (double suture technique) is a non-incisional double eyelid surgery. The intention is to produce a crease in the upper eyelid, creating what is commonly called a “double eyelid.”  Using this technique, your board certified facial plastic surgeon will introduce a suture through tiny entry-points, then tie the suture to the levator muscles, lifting the eyelid and creating the fold. No skin is excised during a DST procedure.
If you have a lower crease presently, a DST procedure introducing a higher crease will minimize or eliminate that crease since a DST will lift the skin. The lower crease will mostly likely reoccur as the skin gradually falls over time. While DST procedures have several advantages, these procedures are not as long-lasting or predictable as procedures which use incision.
