What is the difference between steroid injections depo medrol and kenalog?

My doctor gave me an injection of depo medrol to reduce scar tissue build up in my supra tip. I was wondering if theres a difference between the effectiveness of depo medrol and kenalog which is more frequently used? Will it still work to reduce supratip fullness?

While triamcinolone is probably the more frequently used for supra tip swelling (first described almost 40 years ago) methylprednisolone and triamcinolone both in the acetate form, are considered of equal relative potency and duration of action.

Dear Kiyomi123,

In general, anti-inflammatories such as steroid-based
medications are used to reduce edema and swelling.  This is particularly common in primary nasal
tip and secondary nasal tip surgery.  It
is always a balance between reducing the swelling and minimizing the loss of
soft tissue.  Depo Medrol is an
injectable anti-inflammatory steroid that is injected into the muscle and
provides systemic relief, whereas Kenalog is an injectable steroid that is
usually diluted to a very dilute substance and used to put directly into the
swelling of the nasal supratip.

Both methods are acceptable; however, most surgeons opt for
direct diluted Kenalog supratip injections. 
These can be quite successful in resolving a deep, frustrating edema
that compromises the appearance of the nasal tip.
