At this stage in your healing, taping probably won't make much of a difference. Over the next six months, you will see a gradual change in the swelling. It is amazing that it takes that long, but it really does! Good luck with your final result.-Dr. Asaria
At this point, taping will not be of much help. In my experience, it can take patients anywhere from 6-12 months to completely be healed and to see their final result after a surgical procedure. Keep in touch with your surgeon so he/she is familiar with your concerns. Good luck!
Each surgeon will give you his or her postoperative instructions, however taping at this point may not be very effective. Usually taping the nasal tip for the first 1-2 weeks will play a significant role in the amount of swelling, but its use is usually limited following that time period. Ask you surgeon and they will guide you in the right direction. Good luck!
Dear flightrisk,Tapesupports post-rhinoplasty is commonly advised by plastic surgeons andrhinoplasty surgeons. Generally, thisuse of sterile strips and tapes is quite effective for six to twelveweeks. Once you have reached threemonths, however, there is little benefit from wearing the tapes any further andany persistent swelling in the tip or just above the tip should be evaluated byyour operative surgeon and may require some dilute anti-inflammatory injectedinto the region to minimize any irregularities that you may see. Iwas fortunate to train in both plastic surgery andENT-ear/nose/throat-head/neck oncology and have been in private aestheticpractice for over 20 years. This is a question for your surgeon. In general, taping is not necessary at this point, but your surgeon is the one treating you, and should make all decisions regarding your recovery. Best wishes!
