I've had this burn scar for approximately 15 years. Over the years, its pigmentation has faded but it remains quite visible as you'll see from the attached picture. What are my options in terms of removing it or at least reducing it? Thanks!
Answer: Removal of old burn scar I would say that your best option for removal of your old burn scar would be surgical excision. Ideally, you would be trading your current scar for one that is thin and less noticeable.

Answer: Hidef Protocols for Scar Revision Keloid scars are characterized by their growth potential and increased degree of inflammation within the skin. Unlike non-inflamed scars, keloids have the potential for growth beyond the original footprint of injury. Our office specializes in the management of keloids, whether single or multiple, using a combination platform that includes lasers, RF, scar modulation, Parke-Davis Scar Protocols, and injection therapy. Some keloids will require surgical intervention as an initial step for treatment. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

Answer: Professional Medical Microneedling Can Help To Blend The Tone & Texture Of Scars With Surrounding Normal Skin Admittedly, the photo does not optimally delineate the scar. However, speaking generally, surgically excising the scar will still leave a visible scar, especially in a mobile region and a region under tension. Professional medical microneedling can help to break up the scar tissue and stimulate new, native collagen and elastic fiber synthesis to improve scar texture, but, especially if accompanied by the application of topical pigment promoters, such as bimatoprost and tyrosine, may even lead to significant repigmentation and blending of the scar with the surrounding normal skin. It would be wise, before jumping into surgery, to discuss this option with a board certified aesthetic physician with experience and expertise with professional medical microneedling in the treatment of scars. Best of luck and stay safe.

Answer: Scar dorsal hand Scar excision with a small ellipse is reasonable. There will be another scar and this will require postoperative scar management.
