So I have posted photos about my acne scars in previous questions. I am leaning towards the idea of micro needling and PRP because it seems the most ideal for my situation because it’s inexpensive. I am concerned if I have the full 4-6 sessions done that the effects will not last. I understand the skin ages, but does that mean all the scars I had before come back as if the procedure had never been done?

Answer: Is microneedling permanent? Microneedling procedures are wonderful to improve a variety of issues on your skin. However, just like diet and exercise, you have to commit to taking good care of your skin, using medical grade products and coming in for a maintenance treatment of some kind at least every 3 months. Sun exposure of any kind is detrimental and can bring hyperpigmented spots back. Be sure to always wear an SPF of 50 or above, reapply if you are out in the sun and wear a big hat.

Answer: MICRONEEDLING Microneedling is a great modality the help skin produce collagen and elastin to make your skin glow. PRP is the icing on the cake and should be used in combination. I always advise 3 treatments 4 weeks apart for any scarring or stretch marks. The microneedling pen is also an important factor to get the job right. I use the Rejuvapen which is electric and has multiple depth settings. Look into a provider that offers the same kind of program. Hope this helps. JB
