I’d like thick hair especially on the top of my head. I don’t necessarily have super thin hair, but it isn’t very thick. I’m a female and I’m wondering what could be done to get thicker hair? I’ve heard of hair transplants and laser procedures should I do both? None? Are there other procedures out there? What’s the general cost if so? Thank you.

Answer: Thickening hair Thin hair is not necessarily a cause of concern, unless you've seen a dramatic change in the past couple of months, its likely genetic. There are hair care products that can help layer the strand with proteins like silk protein, and thicken the hair that way. Laser and PRP treatments can also help reduce hair loss but won't necessarily help with the thickness. Nutraceuticals such as Nutrafol have marine collagen and other hair benefiting building blocks so taking a supplement like that may do the trick for you.

Answer: Thin hair First of all, you should see a qualified hair expert to determine if the reason for your thin hair is medical, or genetic. Once that is established, for female patients, taking iron is important as low iron can cause thinning and hair loss in women. Also, the addition of minoxidil can help to thicken the hair. Recently, the use of platelet rich plasma injections may also help.
