My parents will not let me get surgery. I was wondering if I can make up a medical excuse they would. But I want an excuse that a doctor can not prove me wrong with. Also would I be able to choose how I want my nose? How much would it cost if I use local anesthesia?
Answer: Is There a Medical Excuse for Getting Rhinoplasty?
The only medical indications (not excuses) for rhinoplasty include improving your nasal breathing, repairing traumatic injuries or, lastly, cosmetically changing the shape of your nose. Insurance usually covers the first indication and, in many cases, the second. However, changing the shape or size of the nose is cosmetic in nature and is not covered by insurance. Patients do need help and support after rhinoplasty. It is definitely in your best interest that you and your parents are on the same page about this. I hope this information is helpful.

Answer: Get your parents permission
If you are a minor then you definately need your parents approval for anything related to treatment. You should discuss your concerns with them and have them accompany you to a few consultations. You should research and find a Dr that can deliver the results you want and give you a nose that you can be proud of. Good luck. If you are in Los Angeles and have your parents authorization you can come in for a consultation. Good luck

Answer: Medical excuse for a rhinoplasty There is no medical excuse for a rhinoplasty. When patients have a broken nose and it has been documented with an x-ray, and it is fractured and displaced, that can be considered for medical necessity for insurance coverage. Any breathing problems related to turbinate hypertrophy, a deviated septum or valve collapse are performed for medical necessity and billed to the patient's medical insurance. A cosmetic rhinoplasty must be paid for by the patient. For patient safety and comfort a Rhinoplasty is not performed under local anesthesia, but general anesthesia by a board certified physician anesthesiologist. A closed rhinoplasty approach can accomplish your goals by making all the incisions on the inside of the nose. Our price list and rhinoplasty photo gallery are located on the link below
