Could the I.P.L light cause early cataract to the technician giving the treatments?

I am an Aesthetician proving service with the I.P.L machine. I use protective lenses. Recently I have noticed a deterioration in my eye sight.(I was told the begining of Cataracts). I am 51.Could the U.V. rays from the I.P.L cause problems with my sight. I have worn corrective lenses since childhood.

Not wearing appropriate eye equipment while providing treatments can lead to having eye problems. Best regards

It is very important as a technician to use the right protective equipment when performing lasers as each set of glasses only protects against specific wavelengths. If you aren't consistent with wearing the glasses, you could have problems. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot
