you can do both at the same time even with laser and we often use aqaugold at the same time with fillers and botox needled into the superficial part of the skin. Best, Dr. Emer.
I am not sure by your question if you mean, after microneedling drizzling the botox on top of the skin or placing it in the muscles. Many things have been reported to be drizzled ontop of the skin; PRP, Amnio FX, Kenalog, etc. I am not familiar with BOTOX on top of the skin after microneedling. If it sits on the surface and does not get to the dermis, it is probably a waste. I am not sure what benefit it would have on the fine lines, it may decrease sweating? If your goal is improvement in fine lines, you may want to drizzle PRP ove rthe area. I inject BOTOX into the muscles at the same time as the microneedling without any problem.
No, microneedling and botox should not be done at the same time. Microneedling is a calculated damage to the skin that cascades rehealing and stimulates collagen. Botox is an injectable and it should only be administered to intact skin. It is best to wait at least two weeks between these two treatments.
If Botox was done in a seperate area, then yes, however if micro needling was performed over the area that was treated with Botox, this is not advisable as diffusion can occur due to oedema or swelling. For the sake of safety I normally wait 3 days after Botox before micro needling. Or, conversely 5 days after microneedling to ensure swelling has subsided before Botox. Wishing you well, Dr Isobel Walker. Brisbane. Australia
Yes micro-needling can be done with Botox, but not how your have described in your question. This procedure is done using a device with hollow microneedles that will inject very small amounts of dilute botox solution into the skin (or in other words, intradermal). We use a more dilute solution than the standard concentration. Micro-needling with Botox can help to give your skin a smoother appearance by shrinking pore size and softening fine lines.
Hi MD.MM, We don't usuallly schedule Botox in the same appointment as microneedling. However, it seems as if you intended for Botox to be spread on your face. Unlike PRP, hyaluronic acid or Sculptra, It won't be effective that way and won't act like microBotox. For Botox to be effective in softening wrinkles, it has to be injected in the precise area and in the correct quantity. All the best, Justin Harper, M.D.
I would refrain from using any products (such as a topical vitamin c) that could cause adverse reactions, irritation or unwanted inflammation immediately after microneedling. For the first day or two after microneedling, I would recommend a gentle cleanser and a moisturizer.
Great Question! Typically, patients can resume their normal makeup and skin care regimen 2-3 days following their microneedling treatment. As this may vary based on the area and type of treatment performed, make sure to consult your provider for their recommendation.
This is difficult to answer without pictures. It is normal to have swelling and/or redness after microneedling for a few days and this is due to inflammation and histamine release. If it doesn't resolve in a few days, please consult your Doctor. I find adding PRP decreases redness and swel...
No, if performed correctly, microneedling should not cause nerve damage. I always combine microneedling with prp and lasers to get the best outcomes. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
