I expected bigger and softer. My BWD is 14. I'm 5'8" and 155lbs. I'm afraid that I spent all this money and my breasts will remain this size. I haven't been fitted yet, but I'm positive I'm a small C when I wanted a big D. I also wanted natural looking, but they don't look natural.
Answer: Breast Implant Sizing Hello,Yes, textured implants drop and fluff, but not as much and not as fast. Regardless, if you communicated your goals in cup size, you were already on the loosing path prior to surgery. No surgeon can guarantee a cup size, because there is no correlation between implant volume and bra cups. In office sizing is the best way to determine the necessary volume to achieve happiness in front of a mirror. Best of luck!

Answer: Unsatisfied after BA Dear alhall1980,you are still in the early phase of the recovery period. Please do allow some time for the healing process to occur. If after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: Do teardrop, silicone, textured under muscle implants "fluff"? I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast augmentation surgery. Your plastic surgeon, knowing the details of your situation, will be your best resource when it comes to good assessment, advice, and/or meaningful prediction/reassurance. Generally speaking, breast implants will "drop" into the pocket that was created during surgery. The rate of breast implant "settling" may depend on MANY factors such as size of breast implant pocket dissected, tightness of the overlying skin/muscle layers, and size of breast implant utilized. Normally, it takes about 3-6 months (for some patients longer) to see the final result. It is very common for one side to settle faster than the other. Similarly, it takes a few months for the breasts to "soften" in most cases. Most of my patients tell me that their breast implants feel "part of them" somewhere between 3 to 6 months after surgery was performed. I suggest that you wait to evaluate the final result/size of the surgery (and go bra sizing/shopping) when you are about 6 months to a year out. I would also suggest that you do not base your satisfaction with the results of surgery on a specific cup size, given that this is somewhat arbitrary and dependent on who makes the bra (and who does the measuring). In my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. Also keep in mind that there is definitely a physiologic and "psychological" (body image) adaptation process that occurs, at differing rates for every patient, for patients who undergo any type of aesthetic surgery, including breast augmentation surgery. Understandably, patients often experience significant emotional "ups and downs" around the time of surgery. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Textured implants are designed to hold where they are positioned and you don't get the drop and fluff that comes with smooth round implants. I hope you were instrumental in choosing the size implants to be used in your procedure as my patients do the choosing and I pick the profiles that will best meet their goals. Your breasts will soften in appearance with time but the size will not really change as you're hoping. Its hoped that you will adjust to the improvements achieved with your procedure and eventually find it 'good enough' when you consider where you started from. Otherwise you will need additional procedures down the road from fat grafting to new, larger implants if you have to have larger mounds.

Answer: Size You are still very early in the healing phase and need to give yourself time to heal, let the implants settle, and the swelling subside. Remember, this is the size that you and your surgeon selected. With little breast tissue, implants can feel firmer. Also, bras are not made to standard size. What is a C cup in company may be a D cup in another. Please discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.
