If finasteride 1mg loses effectiveness can a higher dose like 2mg work for me?

Studies would suggest that for the bast majority of men, doses beyond 1 mg do not provide much additional benefit. Adding a second treatment, with different mechanism of action, is often advisable in such situations. Options include minoxidil, laser, PRP.

In a few patients, raising the dose of finasteride has helped maintain or better the results that they have but it raises the risks of sexual side effects.
