I was born in a "foreign land" where they must have used a cattle prod to give our BCG Vaccination with. As a result, I have a very large/raised, somewhat bunny shaped scar that I hate. Can it be cut out and the skin restitched? I'd rather have a scar from stitched than this ugly thing. Please let me know
Answer: Keloid therapy in Los Angeles You may have a keloid. I would treat with Plato's scar serum, pulsed dye laser, and Kenalog IIT before any surgery.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

Answer: BCG scar removal question, can it be cut out and skin re-stitched? Thank you for sharing your question. In most cases a BCG scar can be excised and closed with sutures to allow for a more pleasing aesthetic appearance. Be sure to see an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss.

Answer: Hypertrophic Scar -- Vascular Lasers (V Beam, Excel V, Yellow Laser), Fraxel, PRP; Siliagen Gel and Growth Factors BioShield This is difficult to answer without pictures. This type of scar can be improved with a combination of vascular lasers like yellow laser, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a scarring expert. Silagen gel should be used twice daily with jan marini bioshield. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: BCG Scar removal question, can it be cut out and skin restitched? Hello Luls777,The BCG vaccine frequently does lead to an indented scar. Depending on the look, it usually can be improved with excision. This depends on how much adjacent skin laxity you have. You also need to be cautious about keloid formation in the shoulder area with excision. Certain techniques can minimize the risk. I'd recommend you consult a surgeon with scar experience to minimize the risk of making your problem worse.I hope this helps and good luck.
