Botox after a tooth filling?

I have a dental filling scheduled on a top molar and 2.5 days later I have Botox (forehead/elevens/masseters) scheduled with Skinvive. Is it ok to do the Botox that soon after the filling? Should I skip masseters for this time so it doesn’t get affected? Thank you!

Hi there,

It’s generally safe to get Botox a couple of days after a routine dental filling. The main concern is usually swelling, soreness, or any infection in the area of the procedure, but a standard filling typically doesn’t cause significant inflammation that would interfere with Botox in the forehead, glabella (“11s”), or masseters.

You don’t necessarily need to skip the masseters, as the injection sites are separate from your molars, and Botox in that area shouldn’t affect the healing of your tooth. Just be mindful if you notice unusual pain, swelling, or sensitivity after your filling—if that happens, it’s reasonable to wait a little longer before doing your masseter injections.

Otherwise, your scheduled Botox can go ahead as planned, and the timing after the filling shouldn’t be an issue.

I would not foresee a problem with having a Botox treatment 2.5 days after a dental filling.  You may want to check with the office that is going to do your Botox treatment though, as they may feel differently.
