Is a compression bandage or garment best to have right after explant surgery?

I am having explant only surgery of 600cc silicone one under muscle and one above muscle. The PS does not use a compression garment or bandage. The office said you just remove it when you shower anyway. Is this standard? My understanding is that there is need for compression after explant.
