It’s certainly technically possible to do John‘s surgery and implant removal in the same procedure.
Whether that’s a good idea or not needs to be determined by having a proper assessment.
If you’ve had consultations then ask the providers. If you have not had consultations that scheduled in person consultations with oral surgeons in your community.
During the consultation you can get an assessment and tell the surgeon what your concerns are and what you’re trying to achieve.
Sufficiently talented provider should be able to make an assessment and explain what can and cannot be done and what the recommendations will be.

Removing a chin implant is pretty simple and could be done as a local anesthesia procedure.
It should not be difficult to do in combination with an oral surgery procedure.
