This is excellent for tattoo removal because it targets the tattoo pigment with minimal damage to surrounding skin.The RevLite has one of the shortest pulse durations and is a gold standard for tattoo removal, especially in darker skin types because the risk of depigmenting the skin is minimized.To be sure, see two or more board certified and experienced plastic surgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation.I hope this helps.

Most black colored tattoos will respond to treatment with a Nd:YAG laser if used by an expert for laser tattoo removal.  The Nd:YAG laser is mostly "color blind" to normal skin pigment.  There are some risks of hyper or hypo pigmentation following laser treatments of any kind.  The Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser minimizes those risks when properly applied by an experience laser dermatologist.

The laser most effective for black ink, the Q-switched Nd:Yag laser, should work well for you.  It has poor absorption of skin pigment (melanin) but excellent absorption of black ink (normally carbon).  You do NOT need to attempt skin bleaching, and we have treated hundreds of darkly pigmented patients with great results.
