With alar plasty the nostrils can be narrowed. The shape of the nostrils can also be changed. However it is very difficult to change the shape in a significant way. Sometimes it has to be accompanied with the tip plasty to achieve that change.

I have performed alar wedge excisions on all ethnic skin types including yours. I have rarely seen a bad scar. The important thing is fir the surgeon to remove the sutures soon after surgery so the sutures don’t leave marks
