Hi! I've never really had prominent cheekbones, and initially I was thinking of getting fat grafting to that area, but I'm now thinking I should probably start with fillers such as Radiesse. (I'd rather not do HAs since they don't last long at all for me). Would you recommend fat grafting later on, are the results similar to fillers? Also, how many Radiesse syringes do you think I would need in order to even out the area, or start out with? I'm 22 years old. Thanks!

Answer: 1-2 syringes Hi Rayna, It is difficult to give an accurate assessment only from photos. In my experience, 1-2 syringes of Radiesse (1.5 ml per syringe) can produce a beautiful and natural fullness to the cheeks. At your young age, you would metabolize (break down) HA fillers quickly. I agree that Radiesse could be a better option for you. Start slowly as Radiesse can last longer and it can't be reversed the way that HA fillers can be. I would recommend starting with one 1 syringe with the understanding that you may need 2 in order to achieve the look you desire. Hope this helps! Take care Tarek

Answer: #Radiesse - How many syringes? It's hard to say without an in person consultation - which you should have with a board-certified plastic surgeon before proceeding with any treatments - but I would most likely recommend a single syringe as a first step. You can always have more if that is not enough but particularly because you are young (and have relatively taut skin) and have never had it before, it makes to be prudent. Then, give it a few weeks and if you want more at any point you can always do that. I hope that this helps and good luck, Dr. Alan Engler, Member of #RealSelf500
