How long should I be taking Valaciclovir 500mg Anti-viral - Post-CO2/ Erbium laser?

Every patient treatment plan needs to be customized to the individual. For patient's who have remote histories of cold soars on the face & mouth, I generally recommend 48 hours of high dose therapy for suppression. For patient's who have more frequent exacerbations, especially those associated with minor illnesses, stress, or sun exposure, I recommend 7-10-days at a lower dose. If my patient has any underlying autoimmune disorders, I would consult with the patient's primary care provider before treatment.

outstanding treatment that can address multiple aspects of aging in a single
treatment. Depending on how aggressive the settings are, we prescribe valacyclovir to prevent cold sores. There have been no studies demonstrating the most effective dose to use so recommendations vary from one doctor to the next. In our office I prescribe valacyclovir 500 mg by mouth once daily for 7 days starting one day prior to the treatment. Please consult with a doctor for specific
