How soon can I start dancing after breast augmentation under the muscle?

I'm glad to hear that your recovery has gone well thus far!  Every surgeon is different in what they recommend for their patients so you should check with your physician.  However, with my patients, the typical post-op recommendations are to avoid any strenuous chest workouts for 3 months following surgery.  If you were my patient, and if you are predominantly using your arm and leg muscles, I think you should be okay to return whenever you're comfortable!  Good luck!

Thank you for your question.  I recommend that my patients treat their breast augmentation with implants procedures as they would a pulled muscle, listening to their bodies throughout the healing process.  That being said, I tell them to wait until about the six week mark before performing any rigorous exercise.  Please discuss this with your operating surgeon though, as the opinion on matter varies from surgeon to surgeon.All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL

Thank you for your question about breast implants.Contact your PS and ask when you will be released to return to work.In general, I allow my patients to participate in strenuous activity about 6-8 weeks after breast implant surgery depending on the specific situation.I hope this helps.

Most plastic surgeons will recommend that you wait at least eight
weeks before resuming any intense physical activity or heavy lifting,
especially if it involves use of the pectoral muscle.  You may be able to resume dancing before that
eight week point depending on how much stress the activity puts on the chest
and arms.  I would encourage you to be
patient and take time to heal, and definitely wait until your plastic surgeon
gives you the go-ahead before resuming dancing or other physical activity.

resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, and
concerns.

Having said that, I typically recommend 3 weeks before increasing heart rate, 4
weeks before going to the gym. By then you should have a pretty good idea about
what activities hurt. As a general rule, if it still hurts, then don't do it.

Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure;  I am glad that you have been complication free. Timing to return to specific types of exercise/activity will vary from one patient to another. Best to check with your plastic surgeon for specific advice. Remember, that he/she knows exactly what procedure was performed, how you are progressing, and is also responsible for your care.Generally, I suggest patients gradually ease back into the strenuous aerobic exercise 4 to 6 weeks postoperatively, assuming that they are doing well and there have been no complications.  Lower body exercise can generally be resumed 2 weeks postoperatively. Use common sense, listen to your body, and gradually resume previous activity. In my practice, I ask patients to avoid contact and strenuous exercise involving the pectoralis major muscles ( such as push-ups, bench press, burpees, dancing on a pole…) for at least 3-6 months.
