I am two months post op after breast augmentation and I am worried because my breasts are uneven. I know I should wait 3-6 months for a final result. I have teardrop 320cc saline implants under the muscle. I do not expect my breasts to be exactly the same, but it looks like one implant didn't drop. I visited my surgeon one month ago and I am going to do it in a 20 days again. He didn't show me how to massage my breasts, and I'm afraid to do it by myself (because I don't know on which point I should pay atention). I'm worried that it will be to late to improve situation with massage when I visit him again. I'll be 2.5 months after surgery at that point. I wear special bra most of the time and when I sleep (but I think that with this bra I just don't allow the left breast to drop, because I'm holding it on it's place most of the time). Yesterday by a phone he told me to wear a bra when I sleep but not so much during the day,but after a while I start to feel pain in my right breast and I'm afraid that it will drop more than it should. Thank You for Your answers.
Answer: Breast Implants Recovery and Results Thank you for your question about breast implants.Several Points to note:If your implants are shaped, then that means they are textured.Massage for textured breast implants is not recommended. At 2 months, it is still very early in the healing process. I have seen implants take a full 6-9 months to drop.Textured breast implants do not drop in the same fashion as smooth round breast implants.Perhaps wearing a bandeau strap might help. The amount of asymmetry you have is mild. It would be nice to see before pictures to see if you had any pre-existing breast asymmetry. Many women have slight asymmetry which can be magnified by the addition of breast implants. For questions such as yours, I recommend that you stay in contact with your PS, keep your follow up appointments and follow all of his or her instructions.I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Uneven Breasts Thank you for your question. The two #breasts commonly heal quite differently. One breast may #swell more, feel more uncomfortable, or have a different initial #shape. Healing usually takes 2-3 months, but it may take up to a full year to see your final result. It takes time for the skin and muscle to stretch and relax around the new #implant. After complete healing, they will be more similar and natural. You must have patience, but if this causes concern, ask questions of your #boardcertified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Uneven breasts 2 months after augmentation I am sorry to hear about your concerns after breast surgery. It is hard, based on the photographs, to evaluate your outcome carefully enough. Given that you are only two months out of surgery, I would suggest ongoing time and patience. I would also suggest that you continue to follow up with your plastic surgeon. I think you have a good understanding: patients undergoing breast augmentation surgery should understand that it may take six months to one year for them to see the final outcome of the procedure and that achieving absolute symmetry is not possible, in most cases. On the other hand, if in the long-term, significant breast asymmetry persists, then revisionary surgery (usually involves adjustment of the breast implant pockets or capsules) usually successful in improving symmetry. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be pleased with longer-term.

Answer: Breast asymmetry and breast augmentation Hi, Thanks for posting your question. I am happy to try and help you. It is important to remember that a board certified plastic surgeon will be your best resource when it comes to an accurate assessment of your situation, and concerns. Having said that,it is common to have implants settle at different rates. If your pre-existing anatomy has your breast creases or breast folds at different positions, they implants will settle to different places. So your preoperative anatomy has a lot to do with a final result. You are still early so give it some more time. Best wishes, Dr. Michael J. Brown Northern Virginia Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Breast implants Thank you for your question and photos. I recommend that you give yourself more time before assessing the final results of your surgery. It appears that your breasts still need to drop, which could still happen gradually in the coming weeks. If after a few more months you are still dissatisfied, please discuss a revision with your operating surgeon. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
