Pain and tension in temples after Botox

Thank you for sharing your experience.  I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble after your injections.  make sure that your injector is aware of your condition.  While it is true that a very small percentage of patients may experience a headache directly after their procedure, it is very unlikely to last for two weeks.

It is very rare that Botox injections can cause an increase in headaches, and symptoms of fatigue, but it can happen. Botox is actually used for those who suffer from tension headaches, and is approved for this treatment. It may be that 80 units was a lot to do in one session. I would not let this experience stop you from future Botox sessions. It will wear off and your symptoms should improve over the next few weeks. When you are ready for Botox again perhaps have another expert injector help you, and limit the units to a smaller amount, the average is 25-50 units in my experience.Best, Dr P

I would definitely return to your treating physician for examination.  Side effects after Botox are extremely rare but it sounds like you had a great deal of Botox in multiple places, some perhaps not typical. Please keep us posted.  Best, Dr. Green

Even though your symptoms are rare they do occur in some of the patients. Firstly you should notify your treating physician of the symptoms. Second, I recommend that you try using moist, warm compresses and apply to the areas of discomfort approximately 6 times a day until the compresses cools. Taking some Advil should also help you with the pain.I hope this helps and good luck from New York City
