Hi and thanks for your question, Yes, Botox works very well to improve expressive lines (lines in the forehead, between the brows and crow's feet that are only there when you make facial expressions). Botox results will last between 3-4 months. Make sure to see an experienced injector. My goal is to always have patients look natural and maintain normal facial movement, so no one can ever tell that you have had injections. Hope this helps.
Your wrinkles are not deeply etched so I believe a good Botox treatment should take care of them. If you’re not happy with the results after two weeks, then you might consider filling in with a small amount of dermal filler or getting a laser resurfacing. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who can take a closer look at your skin in person and come up with the best solution for you.
Thank you for the photo! It really helps that you were able to post a photo. The photos appear that the 11s are minor in my estimation. I would recommend Botox in this area. FIllers have a high rate of side effects in the 11s area (glabella). Botox is safe and effective treatment in reducing the appearance of these lines on the forehead. I recommend that you seek an in person evaluation for appropriate recommendations with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Botox is a great way to start. Botox will temorarily paralyze the muscles that cause the creases between the brows that sometimes are referred to as the 11s. After injection, the botox begins to take affect in three to four days. After botox takes affect, it should last three months. The botox will only smooth the creases that are caused by muscle action. If the muscles between the brows are paralyzed, and there are still deep creases present, you may benefit from a hyaluronic acid filler (Juvederm/Restyline). An experienced provider can cousel you as to which filler would be best in your particular case. Good luck
Hi there and thanks for your question and photos! Botox would be the best option to smooth out those 11 lines. Botox relaxes the muscles that form the 11 lines and prevents the movement of "scrunching your brows." I suggest seeing an experienced injector for more information. Best of luck!
I would suggest Botox is a much safer and effective option for your 11’s than fillers at this point. See an expert! Dr. Aldo
Botox would probably be sufficient to smooth out your forehead wrinkles. You need to re-administer Botox every three to four months. A board-certified dermatologist will be able to get you the best results.
Botox is the best treatment for the glabella area. After the lines are treated if you need any filler you will be able to assess it after two weeks. Since the lines don't appear to be deep you probably don't need any filler. Please consult with an expert in Botox and cosmetic fillers. Best, Dr. Green
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs 19831985. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. When injected into the skin Botox will relax the muscles and smoothen out the overlying wrinkles. The most common areas of treatment are in the upper face. These include the horizontal lines seen on the upper forehead when one raises the brows, the vertical lines seen between the brows when one frowns (frown lines), and the crow's feet seen around the eyes when one smiles. It is difficult to make an assessment without a formal exam in the office where I can view the skin in multiple angles and observe wrinkles formed with facial expression. However, I hope the information provided here is useful. The appearance of frown lines is variable from person to person. Usually they are in a vertical orientation but sometimes they can be oblique and sometimes a horizontal line is seen across the upper portion of the nasal bridge. The most common variation is to have two parallel lines, hence the common term "11's" to describe them. But some people have one, three, or more lines. Some people also will see a bulge in the area when contracting the muscle. This bulge is smoothened out after a Botox treatment. The pivotal studies used 20 units of Botox in the glabella area between the brow to address the frown lines. These studies demonstrated that the peak results are seen 14 days after the treatment and most people enjoy their results for 3-4 months. At that point, a maintenance treatment is recommended. While some people start to see results as early as the next day, it can take two weeks for full results so patience is important. We have our patients return two weeks after their treatment to assess their results via photographs. At that time additional units may be added if necessary.Although 20 units is a good standard dose to start with, some people require a higher dose because of higher muscle volume. This is common in mature patients, in those with large bulges from expressive faces, and in men. I find that Botox still works in these cases, just a higher dose is required. I have used up to 40 units in the glabella.Botox and fillers are two dermal (skin-related) products are both very popular for their anti-aging features. Unlike Botox, which relaxes muscles to smoothen out wrinkles associated with facial expression, fillers restore lost volume in various areas of the face and body. Common fillers include the Juvederm family (Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella), the Restylane family (Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Restylane Refyne, and Restylane Defyne), Belotero, Radiesse, Sculptra, and Bellafill. With age changes occur in the bony structures as well as fat pads, both of which contribute to a youthful appearance. Over time bones move and change shape while fat pads get smaller by losing volume and move downward. Fillers restore such lost volume. Common areas of volume loss include the temples on the sides of the face, the upper cheeks, the tear trough area under the eyes, the nasolabial folds which go from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth, the marionette lines which are the continuation of the nasolabial folds to the jawline, the chin, and the jawline. Often times combining fillers with Botox treatments yields superior results. With any injection, there are risks such as pain, bleeding, bruising, redness, swelling, tenderness, and infection. We take special precautions to minimize these risks such as using a painless technique. We also treat bruises with a laser as early as the next day. Bruises usually resolve within two weeks if untreated. After a laser treatment bruises usually resolve in 1-3 days, but may still take two weeks for full resolution. In addition to these risks, with Botox there is also a risk that the product spreads or diffuses to nearby structures. Spread to nearby muscles can lead to side effects such as the temporary appearance of droopy eyelids or a temporary asymmetric smile. After a Botox treatment, I recommend that my patients avoid heat exposure, alcohol consumption, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours and not lie down flat for four hours. This is because all of these activities may possibly lead to the movement of the product and consequent side effects such as droopy eyelids as described above. Although there have been no definitive studies shown that these actually occur and some physicians do not provide such aftercare instructions, in the absence of data I err on the side of caution and recommend that my patients avoid such activities. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Hello, Thanks for sharing your pictures. You will benefit most from botox and over time there will be collagen induction and take care of the static lines too. Consult a board certified injector.
Severe abdominal pain after Botox injection is very unlikely but anything is possible. Botulin toxin was first recognized 200 years ago as the cause of "botulism" (food poisoning). It is used to treat spastic smooth muscle disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (esophageal spasm and anal...
As you have mentioned, Botox can be strategically placed to provide a slight brow lift. Therefore, I would recommend having your Botox injection first, and waiting for 2 weeks to wait for the full effect of the Botox to occur, before reshaping your brows.
Thank you very much for your question and congratulations on your recent Botox treatment. There is little to no chance that wearing your new sunglasses, or pressing on the area between your brows, will negatively affect your Botox results. As the botulinum toxin type A is injected directly into...
I would suggest that you have a complete evaluation by a board certified ophthalmologist. There are multiple causes for eyelid twitching, including dry eye syndrome, allergy, ingrown eye lashes or foreign body in the eye, An ophthalmologist experienced in botox injections will have a complete...
Although i dont see an absolute contra-indication i think waiting is the best idea. I would give it at least 2 weeks and speak to your injector also about the situation. good luck.
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can have Botox as the medications you have listed do not interfere with treatment. However, I do recommend having a consultation with an expert injector to discuss treatment. Best of Luck!
