Belly button revision after Tummy Tuck? (Photos)

Question

I had a TT 18mths ago. It is really tiny (2mm wide)and odd looking. My children constantly tease me about it. The scarring around it is very visible. Is there a way I can get a more natural looking belly button.

Thanks for the great question! You can absolutely have that advised. When belly buttons are too small it is much easier to make them a more natural size than it is to make large belly buttons smaller. This procedure can sometimes be performed under local in the office. Find a plastic surgeon whose belly buttons you like and see them for a consultation. Thanks for your question. It is certainly possible to improve the appearance of a belly button scar following a tummy tuck. This is something that can be done typically under local anaesthetic in an office setting. My suggestion would be to contact your plastic surgeon and find out what your options are. All the best.

Yes. an umbilical incision can be revised and the opening enlarged. Obviously you still are at risk for recurrent scarring. I would speak to your plastic surgeon or consult  another, preferably certified by the American Board of of Plastic Surgery.
