I had a temp crown put on on Wednesday. Now I'm in agony with sharp shooting pains!

Whilst having a root canal done a few years ago, my tooth snapped off to my roots. Since then I have had a tooth made out of filling, and finally on Wednesday I was able to get my preparation for my crown. Whilst having it done, I felt some sharp shooting pains. The dentist gave me some anaesthetic & all was okay. Now all of a sudden, I am getting quite a lot of sharp shooting pains again. Just a little worried.

If you are still grinding your teeth, it may be that the doctor did not feel composite restorations or veneers would last. It is worth discussing with your doctor. Without photos or xrays, it is difficult to tell you whether there are other viable options, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
