Yes - I am unaware of an increased rupture risk from swimming in cold water. To seriously have an impact on the implants, the water would have to be extremely cold or you would have to be in it for a significantly extended period of time. I'd be more worried about your general health/frostbite/hypothermia in that case. Warmest Regards, Asif Pirani, MD, FRCS(C)
Cold water will only m ake you feel cold but it will not hard your implants. Enjoy the swim like a polar bear!
There is no increased rupture rate of breast implants related to cold temperature. Hope this helps.
You would have to stay in long enough to get quite hypothermic before the implants would have a temperature change. These implants are stored at room temperature, which is way cooler than the implants would possibly get while you are swimming. Not a worry. Best wishes, and thanks for the question.
Enjoy your swim! Cold water will not hurt your implants. You didn't say how long ago you had your Breast Augmentation. Be sure to follow your Plastic Surgeon's advice regarding exercise.
Swimming in cold water does not increase the chance for rupturing breast implants. You should wait a period of time before swimming anywhere but this relates to wound healing rather than rupturing implants. I go to Lake George most every year and I hope the water you swim in is no colder than there.
