Fat grafting is considered a permanent procedure because the transplanted fat can last many years. One of the things which can effect the shape of the face after fat grafting is weight gain. If you gain significant weight after fat grafting your face will expand which can result in overcorrection. This is why it is important to maintain a stable weight after fat grafting and to never overcorrect when placing fat in the face. Asymmetries can usually be corrected with filler to balance out the face.
