I went to my first appointment with the surgeon on October 16 and we can a half later I was approved by the insurance I’m scheduled to have my surgery November 13, 2017 which is in less than a week. I am super scared and happy at the same time. I suffer from High blood pressure severe anxiety and sinus tachycardia. Anyone else?
Answer: Clearance You should get a full workup by a medical doctor prior to surgery. You surgery should also be performed at a hospital based facility for safety. I recommend an in-office examination as well as a detailed discussion with a surgeon who you are comfortable with. Finally, make sure your surgeon is a Double-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS), a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).Best,Dr. DesaiBeverly Hills Institute for Aesthetic Plastic SurgeryHarvard Educated, Beverly Hills & Miami Beach TrainedDouble Board-Certified, Double Fellowship-Trained Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Has anyone done surgery with history of anxiety, sinus tachycardia or how blood pressure? Thank you for the question and congratulations on your decision to proceed with breast reduction surgery. This operation tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations we perform. duration of surgery may vary from one practice to another; average surgery duration is about 3 hours in our practice.Breast reduction surgery can be done safely for patients with a variety of different “medical conditions”. Careful evaluation and treatment of the medical condition is necessary prior to determining the appropriate candidates for the procedure. In your case this would be best done by your internist or cardiologist. The physicians who know your situation best would be best suited to discuss your suitability for the procedure and the potentially increased risks/ complications that you should consider.Anxiety prior to surgery is very normal; its complete elimination is usually not possible. Assuming you have chosen your plastic surgeon carefully, other important "variables" such as anesthesia provider and surgery facility will be selected based on everyone's first priority: safety. This careful selection should give you some peace of mind that you will be safe around the time of surgery. Discuss your specific areas of concerns with your plastic surgeon who will be in the best position to help you calm your nerves. Again, please make sure you are seeking consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons who preferably work with board-certified anesthesiologists in fully accredited surgery facilities. I hope this helps. Best wishes.
