Laser resurfacing does involved a vigorous healing response which could mildly affect your energy but if this continues for more than 2 weeks. I suggest you seek your practitioner for guidance. There are other medical issues that could be responsible.I hope this was helpful.
Thank you for your question, joaniewoanie. The laser skin resurfacing recovery typically lasts one to two weeks. Should you feel any symptoms that persist, please consult with the physician who performed the procedure. Perhaps you should jot down all of the major occurrences in your life since the procedure to determine if your reduced energy stems from the laser skin resurfacing treatment or something else.Best wishes,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. Your feeling tired is probably not related to your laser skin resurfacing procedure. Let your doctor know how you are feeling in case there is an unrelated problem going on. I hope you feel better soon.
This is not a typical issue from laser resurfacing I suggest seeing your physician and/or a psychologist to see if there is other life events that are affecting your mood. some people feel depressed after laser resurfacing which also could be affecting your mood. There is no reason why not to speak to someone about it and get a formal internal evaluation (hormones, vitamins etc). Best, Dr. Emer.
The laser procedure itself should not produce any fatigue, but it is possible that any systemic anesthesia used during the procedure could. If you had a general anesthesia for the procedure, this sometimes can produce some fatigue but normally this would resolve fairly soon. If you have not already, I would alert the physician who treated you about your issue so that you can be evaluated if needed.

Joanie,Based on the photograph which you enclosed it would appear that your laser resurfacing is healing extremely well. There is no physiological reason for fatigue following laser resurfacing. I suspect that there is a component of emotional letdown similar to postpartum depression. It is likely that you will have an excellent result and therefore should be looking forward to the final result. This may not be seen for several months however the next few days should make a significant difference. Please anticipate with joy a wonderful result. In passing I would add however that you may want to prepare for some pigmentation issues and perhaps prevent them with proper skin care. Consult with your treating physician.
