In the immediate period after a sunburn, the best thing you can do for a sunburn is take aspirin for the first 24 hours.  Applying specifically-formulated Vitamin C creams, with 10 percent or more L-ascorbic acid, or glycolic acid creams, can reduce inflammation and therefore reduce redness and some of the damage in the immediate period after a burn.  Long-term, you should be seeing a dermatologist at least yearly and examining the skin yourself every month for suspicious growths. Lasers, such as the Alexandrite Gentlelase, and medicated topical creams containing 1percent retinol, 10 percent or more glycolic acid, or prescription RetinA or Tazarac, as well as chemical peels, can correct the sun damage and reduce your risk of percancers and skin cancer down the road.I hope this is helpful!
