My recommendation would be to wait a minimum of 4 weeks to allow the area to fully heal and settle. Most skydivers have to wear face protection which may put too much pressure on the area that was injected. This can result in unnecessary injury to the nose and displacement of the filler.
Restylane nose fillers generally require some time for the product to fully integrate and for swelling or bruising to subside. While most normal activities can be resumed within a day or two, activities that involve significant changes in pressure, wind exposure, or potential facial impact—such as skydiving—can increase swelling, bruising, or risk of filler migration during the early healing phase. Five days post-treatment, the filler is still settling, so while it is not strictly contraindicated, it is safer to wait at least 1–2 weeks to minimize any risk and ensure the best results.
As long as the mask or glasses does not exert focused pressure on the area of filler injection, then there should not be an issue from the standpoint of the nonsurgical rhinoplasty.
After nasal fillers, especially if it's on the nasal bridge, we advise people not to wear N95 masks, or perhaps ski goggles. It takes several weeks for the filler to become immobilized, and eye protective gear can be an issue. If you're not planning on putting anything on your nose, have fun! Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
Hello! My name is Jessica, I am a physician assistant, and one of the providers at Aesthetic Skin in Winnetka and Chicago. This is a great question. Going skydiving just five days after receiving Restylane nose fillers involves several considerations to ensure both the safety and effectiveness of your treatment. Restylane fillers are designed to enhance volume and shape in the nasal area. While the risk of complications is generally low, engaging in high-impact activities like skydiving shortly after the procedure can increase the risk of swelling, bruising, or displacement of the filler. The force and movement associated with skydiving might exacerbate any initial swelling or cause changes in the filler placement, potentially impacting the final results. Five days is relatively soon after receiving fillers, and while many people experience minimal issues, individual responses can vary. It's essential to allow time for initial swelling and any potential bruising to settle. Skydiving involves rapid acceleration and changes in air pressure, which might affect the newly injected area and could lead to discomfort or complications. Typically, most providers recommend avoiding strenuous activities, including high-impact sports, for at least one to two weeks after receiving dermal fillers. This precaution helps ensure that the filler remains in place and allows any initial swelling or bruising to subside. If you’re set on going skydiving soon after the procedure, getting explicit approval from your injector is crucial. In summary, while many individuals might recover quickly from Restylane fillers, engaging in skydiving just five days afterward could pose risks related to swelling, bruising, or filler displacement. I hope this helps and best of luck!
We do not advocate the use of temporary gel fillers after rhinoplasty surgery, since necrosis would be terrible. If a bit too much filler was placed, sometimes red inflammation can occur until there is a bit of dissolution. There is no way to tell if your experience could be inflammation from a...
In your case, since you experienced pain, swelling, and discoloration after the initial injection—even without overt vascular occlusion—it’s wise to proceed with caution. If reinjection is considered, the safest approach is typically: Wait until complete resolution of swelling, redness, or br...
That’s a thoughtful question. In cases where there is a nose piercing, dermal fillers can generally still be placed for liquid rhinoplasty, but there are a few considerations. The area around the piercing needs to be carefully evaluated because the presence of scar tissue or the piercing tract m...
