26/f. I had braces as a child but stopped wearing retainers years ago, but my chin has always been quite long and prominent, only when I smile with teeth (and to a lesser degree smiling without teeth). It also accentuates my larger nose, but I live in constant frustration because I can never smile with teeth due to my large chin, or I have to hide it. This problem also causes my teeth to recede inwards or appear smaller. What is going on/needed here?

Not to pick apart your question, but there is a nerve that will sometimes need to be considered with doing a genioplasty. Nerve issues are the most common long-term issue with any chin surgery, whether implant or genioplasty. In my experience, most people suggest what they are most comfortable...
Yes, you have a slightly recessed chin, but there are ways to improve your projection. Your best outcome would be with a genioplasty. Your chin would be brought forward and slightly angled down, creating more balance to your profile. If you are not looking for surgery, you could try chin fillers...
There are several options to reduce the size and projection of the chin. Sometimes, a wedge of bone can be removed to decrease the projection. In other cases, the chin can be reduced by shaving the bone.
