Strawberry legs: would hair and scar removal improve the look of my legs? (Photo)

Question

I've tried using an epilator, shaving, & hair removal creams and nothing seems to work. I am so insecure about my legs and I am willing to invest in something to fix this. Do you think hair removal for my scars & ingrown hairs will improve the appearance of my legs?

Thanks for your question. Lasers used for laser hair removal target the pigment in the hair. The pigment absorbs the wavelengths emitted from the laser which is then converted to heat which damages the hair follicle, inhibiting future hair growth. Laser hair removal may indeed help to reduce the appearance of strawberry legs by reducing the thickness of hair, inhibiting future hair growth, and preventing ingrown hairs from occurring. Laser hair removal typically takes about 6-8 sessions to see optimal results, but results and the number of sessions needed may vary from person to person. Please consult with a licensed professional to decide on a personal and appropriate treatment plan for you.
